Columbia, SC - Attorneys with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP and economic development experts with Parker Poe Consulting have worked with EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics Inc. to expand its commitment to the company’s new manufacturing operations in Anderson County. The subsidiary of German automotive supplier EuWe Group will use the $5 million investment to help meet growing demand for plastic interior parts from its facility at the Alliance Industrial Park located off Interstate 85.

The company originally announced in 2015 that it would invest $11 million and create 49 jobs at its first U.S. manufacturing facility at the Anderson site. The new investment comes as the operation is still being prepared for opening in 2017, and will add an additional 29 jobs over the next five years. EuWe serves the top 10 global automobile manufacturers, including its primary U.S. customer, BMW.

"We’re extremely excited about being awarded additional business prior to the actual launch of our production. This business enables us to increase the size of our operations and to create even more new jobs right here in Anderson County,” said Markus Gosse, CEO of EuWe Eugen Wexler U.S. Plastics.

“It’s great to be able to help an innovative, progressive global manufacturer like EuWe deepen its commitment to the North American market. We enjoyed working with the EuWe Eugen Wexler team and would like to thank the economic development stakeholders who supported this expansion in Upstate South Carolina,” said Sam Moses, a Partner with Parker Poe in Columbia and Chair of the firm’s Manufacturing Group.

“With this investment, EuWe executives have made clear they intend their company to be a part of the Upstate community for many years to come. Assisting them with securing the right conditions and incentives to be able to double down on their investment like this was really gratifying for everyone involved,” said Mark Simmons, Principal with Parker Poe Consulting.
