Site selection professionals with Parker Poe Consulting (PPC) have helped Austria’s voestalpine Automotive Body Parts, Inc. move forward on plans to expand its Georgia operations and lease a new facility in Alabama.
The $50 million expansion located at their current production facility in Cartersville, GA will create 150 new jobs as the company extends its ability to provide critical components to premium car manufacturers in the Southeast.
Meanwhile, voestalpine expects to begin production in September at a new 52,360-square-foot plant in Birmingham, Ala. With an $11 million investment in facility upfit and associated machinery, the Birmingham facility will operate four assembly lines and create 42 jobs within the next five years.
PPC is delighted to once again provide assistance to this leading-edge supplier to expand its ability to serve some of the world’s top automakers ― including BMW and Mercedes-Benz ― who have made tremendous investments in assembly plants here in the Southeastern United States.
